First Time in the World, Honda Launches Honda WR-V as the First Small SUV in Indonesia
Jakarta, 2 November 2022 – For the first time in the world, Honda
launched the Honda WR-V in Jakarta on November 2, 2022. This latest product is Honda's
first model in the Small SUV segment in Indonesia, combining the distinctive
character of Honda's SUV which has advanced performance and technology with a
more compact design and more sporty style.
Honda WR-V
was developed from the Honda SUV RS Concept which is a Compact SUV with a more
sporty character typical of the RS variant from Honda. This concept has also
previously been realized through the RS variant which was first present in an
SUV model through the All New Honda HR-V which was launched in Indonesia in
March 2022. The full implementation of this concept then came through the mass
production model of the Honda WR-V which had displayed with camouflage stickers
at automotive exhibitions and roadshows in various regions in Indonesia, which
has also been very enthusiastically received by consumers.
Prior to its
launch, the Honda WR-V had gone through a series of consumer research and
underwent tests on various road conditions in Indonesia. Based on the results
of the study, Honda then designed a car that answers the needs of consumers in

On the
exterior side of the Honda WR-V, the dashing SUV character combines with a more
sporty design. The front view of the Honda WR-V on this model comes with a
front grille that carries a futuristic tesselated design and is equipped with
modern headlights with sporty dark chrome accents. The Honda WR-V also comes
with thin, sharp and long LED headlights so that it looks premium and provides
clear visibility for the driver. This car is also equipped with a modern
Sequential turn signal and makes the front appearance of this SUV look

SUV Growth in Indonesia
In 2021 sales of passenger
cars sold 619 thousand units in retail in Indonesia, an increase of 51%
compared to the previous year. The SUV segment achieved the highest sales with
a total of 227,626 units where SUV sales in 2021 increased by 85% compared to
the previous year. This is due to the distribution of the economy and
